StoryClub is a personalised children's story service based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website and app.

Account data
When you create a StoryClub account, we collect your email address and any preferences associated with your account. If you choose Google Sign-In, Google provides the account identifier, name, and email address needed to authenticate you.
Child profile data
To generate personalised stories, we collect information you provide about your child: their first name, age range, character preference, and appearance characteristics such as skin tone and hair. This is stored as part of your account so you do not need to re-enter it for future stories.
Story data
We store the stories generated for your account so you can access them at any time.
Payment data
Website purchases are processed securely by Stripe. Purchases made in the iPhone app are processed by Apple, with RevenueCat used to validate the purchase and keep your StoryClub credit balance in sync. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Analytics data
We use PostHog to measure a limited set of service events, such as family setup, story generation, opening stories, and purchase outcomes. These events use an account or story-request identifier rather than your name or email. We do not send child names, appearance details, proud moments, story text, or images to analytics. This integration does not record screens, clicks, or session replays, and does not set analytics cookies.
Error diagnostics
We use Sentry to diagnose application errors and crashes. Reports retain technical details such as code locations and app versions. We remove request details and error-message content, and do not attach screenshots or recordings of your activity.
Notification data
If you enable notifications in the iPhone app, we use a device push token, your StoryClub account identifier, and notification interaction data to send and measure service notifications such as completed-story alerts.

StoryClub collects information about children solely to personalise stories. We only accept this data from parents or guardians. We do not use children's data for any other purpose, share it with third parties for marketing, or process it beyond what is necessary to provide the service.
If you are under 18, please do not use this service directly — it is intended for parents and guardians acting on behalf of their child.

We keep your account and child profile data for as long as your account remains active. If you close your account, your data will be deleted within 30 days. You may request deletion at any time by emailing storyclubio@outlook.com.
